Lion King Birthday

Oh how I love the season of summer birthdays! Between my oldest daughter, my mom, my aunt, my brother-in-law, and my niece, the first two weeks of August are PACKED.  But let's be honest, it's the kiddos' parties that are really fun;)  While Little Fashionista settled on a Brave theme, Miss Sparklepants opted for Lion King and the result was simply RAWR-some!

The food table!

Another fabulous cake, courtesy of Diane Anderson.

"Cub Cups": Cubed ham and cheese

"Bugs on a Log": Celery sticks with cream cheese, ranch, and sunflower seeds (in light of Little Fashionista's peanut allergy)

"Tiger Tails": Cheese puffs

"Jungle Vines": Sour punch straws

"Grub": Crumbled chocolate muffin and gummy worms

"Zebra Cakes":

"Jungle Juice"

"Watering Hole"

Miss Sparklepants' birthday chair!

Jungle Swing

"Paw Print Cookies"

Color Station

Lion Favor Bags

And that concludes this year's summer birthday palooza! We definitely ended with a bang...er...RAWR!

Let me know what you thought in the comments below!

A Brave Birthday

Bravery, fate, and birthday cake--that pretty much sums up Little Fashionista's 3rd (golden, might I add) birthday this year.  She absolutely insisted on all things Merida and the crafty goddess inside me was jumping for joy.  The possibilities were endless! From $1 bow and arrows to Disney Store's Twice-Upon-a-Year sale, I was able to score a princess party on a pauper budget.  Let me know what you think!

The party table was complete with (Non)Nightshade Berries, Bear Claws, Fate Pops, and Clan Cookies.

Beautiful cake by Diane Anderson.

Each kid got their own bow and arrow set to use in the archery competition and take home.

Highland Games-kiddie style.

The homemade Merida favor bags were a huge hit and so affordable!

Clan signs were made from burlap and felt, and didn't take nearly as long as I had expected to make them.
The witch's brew (punch with dry ice) also gave the kids a kick.  I had to explain it wasn't a real spell before they would drink it, though. LOL!

Happy birthday, Little Fashionista!
May you find your fate!

XOXO,
Bella C
